Taekwondo is an Olympic competitive sport in which athletes compete with each other by using their skills of combat and self – defense techniques. It is a type of martial art.

Taekwondo events during the world championships may differ from that of during the Olympic Games. An Olympic taekwondo match consists of three rounds of 2 minutes each with totally 6 minutes in duration.
