Minerals are micronutrients with many functions in the body. They are highly important in optimal health. Minerals have been classified into three groups: macrominerals, microminerals, andtrace minerals.
Macrominerals are calcium, chloride, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, and sulfur. Microminerals are fluoride, chromium, cobalt, copper, iodine, iron, manganese, selenium, silicon, and zinc. Trace minerals are boron and vanadium.
