Bowls is a sport in which a player attempts to roll biased balls toward a smaller ball called “jack or kitty” to stop closer to it. This sport is usually played outdoor on a flat or uneven surface on natural grass or artificial turf. The surface is famous as “bowling green“. Bowls is played as a single game or a team. In single game, the first player who scores a specified target number of shots (usually 21 or 25) is the winner.
The team game could be played as pair, triple or four, and the team who scores the most shots after a specified number of ends of play (usually 21 or 25) is the winner.
This sport is usually included in all Commonwealth Games, and the first World Indoor Bowls Championship was held in Scotland in 1979.
