Catalase is an enzyme that breaks down hydrogen peroxide into oxygen and water. Along with superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase, it is the first line of defence of the body against damages caused by free radicals. It is an iron-containing enzyme and one of the naturally found antioxidants in the body.
Natural Sources:
Catalase is found in bovine liver, peas, corn, mango, grapes, mushroom, sugar cane, and honey.
