It is a form of off road motorcycle racing in which participants compete with each other in a closed circuit built on a variety of non-tarmac surfaces such as sand, mud, dirt and grass with sometimes added airborne-induced jumps. The starts of motocross competitions are done en masse. Each motocross race lasts 30 minutes plus two laps. The first rider who crosses the finish line is the winner.
