American football is different than European football, which is called soccer. In the United states, American football is referred to as “football”, while in Europe and other parts of the world, soccer is referred to as “football”. Being played mainly in the United States and Canada, American football is also famous as “gridiron football”.
In this unique sport, two teams of eleven players compete with each other by attempting to advance down the field by running with or passing the ball to score points. The points are scored either by a touchdown or a field goal. The average American football game lasts 3 to 4 hours.
